Would love to have a go at this, I think sunrise would be too much for me to prise myself from my bed, but sunset is a possibility. I like the colours and reflections, your skies are always so good.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02222755123839125133noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1397837404695131955.post-81962565458538430042017-02-24T08:17:24.357+00:002017-02-24T08:17:24.357+00:00Thank you, it is amazing!Thank you, it is amazing!Clare Bowen Artisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07119725061472258102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1397837404695131955.post-10357589687590389422017-02-24T08:16:54.345+00:002017-02-24T08:16:54.345+00:00Hi Caroline, thanks for your comment and good ques...Hi Caroline, thanks for your comment and good question...I used Raw Umber and Ultramarine as the main colours of the darks. These two mixed if in right proportion create a subtle greeny colour. I added a smidge of Crimson to warm it in places and more blue to cool it. And at the tops the trees where light was hitting them I added a small amount of Michael Harding Warm White to the mixture. <br />I hope this helps with your 'darks' mixing :-) ClareClare Bowen Artisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07119725061472258102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1397837404695131955.post-87016576681316187952017-02-23T14:32:24.942+00:002017-02-23T14:32:24.942+00:00You are good at painting skies. What translucent colours did you use in your darks? I recently scraped back a dark area , twice, because I found exactly as you said about the heaviness of opaque paint and how it just looks wrong. Any advice on colours would be great.Caroline Greenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00551868095405244758noreply@blogger.com
