    Fascinating set of paintings of Venice, a masterclass on how to paint historic buildings in different lighting conditions. I am off to France so will resume comments on my return.

    Painting from Monet’s spot - what a wonderful thought. Love the defined foreground and undefined buildings to give the sense of misty, hazy light.
