Daily Painting #9 'Poinsettia' 7x7" Oil on Paper

I used lots of sweeping brushstrokes and rythmical marks.

 Lovely leaves to paint, I kept it very loose and free.

 I didn't use much white in the red leaves (as they'd go pink!) Instead I mixed the red with yellow to lighten it and keep it vibrant.

    The painting is wonderfully loose, no harsh lines and reminiscent of a Japanese painting style.
